Re: can't reopen a saved project
But we have asked already for the same dependency, so I don't think it is terrible behaviour either. I don't think that we can reasonably expect users to remember if a project that they saved months ago has dependencies or not. If you're concerned about annoying users with repeated nagging then per...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
You mean open a saved project, edit it, then File > Save Project should prompt if you want to overwrite that project? No, I mean that by default: open a saved project that has dependencies, edit it, then "File > Save Project" or "File > Save Project As" should prompt if you want...

Re: RMS 35, SOS!
I've not tested this specific audio sample, but as a general rule I'd recommend using noise reduction before compression / limiting effects. * Normalize to 0 dB (with DC offset removal enabled) * Noise reduction * Compression / limiter If compression is done first it tends to cause the noise floor t...

Re: DJM 700, Audacity, and dell laptop
Not all laptops are the same, but generally the "Mic" input on a laptop is for a "mono computer microphone" and not suitable for recording high level signals such as mixers / CD players / MP3 players / keyboards / anything else. The usual solution is to use a USB "stereo lin...

Re: Weird decibel increase after save
Well, maybe it's a popular thing, but everytime when i save my project ( i mean when i convert it to mp3 ) there is a large decibel increase, like 30 Dbs up, it happens to me everytime. I couldn't find anything to solve this. At least send me a link where i can solve this. You'll need to tell us ex...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
that risk is already there with Save Project As... I wrongly assumed that "Save As" would prompt the user in the same way as "Save Project" does, but I see that it doesn't. Also, "Save Project" only prompts for new projects, not when an existing project has been opened...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
I don't personally think it's as important as lack of warning and data loss when users run out of disk space (which is P2 right now) I'd bet that more work gets lost because users don't understand that projects have multiple parts than due to running out of disk space. At least, I think we are more...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
Does it need to prompt for dependencies? For safety I think it should. Example: Original project name = "Over the sea" Audacity project file name: "over-the-sea.aup" Project data folder name: "over-the-sea_data" Dependent file: "over-the-sea.wav" User then re...
