This absolutely does not work for me. Using 2.4.2
Why not? What are you doing and what happens?

By the way, it's generally better to start a new topic than reply to a year old topic, but since you did post here, let's continue here.

Re: Electric drums

I've changed it to mic/line 1 now,the drums seem faint in the background now,is this normal? You should be able to get a good strong signal into Audacity. Ensure that the Roland is turned well up, then gradually increase the input level for mic/line 1 until the red "clip" LED just starts ...

Re: Electric drums

INST 2 will only be recorded by Audacity if you are recording 2 channels (stereo). When recording 1 channel (mono) Audacity will record only the first input of the device (marked "Mic / Line 1" on the UM2). Note that "Mic / Line 1" can accept a 3 pin XLR or a 1/4" jack plug.

I'm having trouble importing any Mp4 files larger than 2 hours into Audacity. It just crashes.
How much free space is there on your C: drive?

Is my best bet to keep those settings for the wav file
Yes.
If you use Audacity to do the conversion, leave everything at default settings and then it's simply:

1. Import the M4A file
2. "File menu > Export as WAv"

Re: Labels lose snap

One *enhancement* (truly, because that's clearly not a bug ;) ) would be to be able to create the keyboard shortcuts (Shift+Alt+Right or Shift+Alt+Left for me, logically) to extend the selection to the next label. That would truly be a great time saver! 8-) Let me know if I should log this separate...

unless there is some way to hear this while recording,
There is.
Ensure that "Transport menu > Transport options > Overdub" is enabled.

Re: Typo on PT-BR and PT-PT Translations

No need to debate here. If you are a native of Brazil you could contact the translators directly via their mailing list: https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/lists/audacity-translation As I don't know if you are a native of Brazil, and I don't speak any dialect of Portuguese, I'm not going to t...

Re: SoundFinder and SilenceFinder commands not accepting parameters

I'm trying to export to a folder with a space in its name. Audacity is not accepting that as a parameter for Export2. How are you making the Macro? The Macro Editor should automatically add quotes around the name. If you are manually editing the macro .txt file, ensure that you include the quotes, ...

Re: Transferring Records HELP!

On my Califone, it had 3 places for it to plug into, Mic Aux, Speaker Aux, and Headphone Aux. In the absence of a manual (I'm guessing that you don't have one and can't find one on the Internet), my guess would be: Mic Aux = microphone input Speaker Aux = mono output for an extension speaker Headph...
