Re: 24-Bit Recording Status

For WASAPI, the sample rates should be set the same throughout. That means, the "device", Audacity, and Windows. Have you set Windows to use 96 kHz in the Windows Sound Control Panel?

"Real" Midas pre-amps are quiet - very quiet. No one's going to pay $20,000 on a mixing desk that goes "ffffff"

Re: Audacity 2.1.2.0 running so slow

we can't justify when a machine gets it in its craw to work right sometimes...and not others. It could be explained by Audacity using a cached image of the waveform image (fast), but when it can't do that the track data must be re-analyzed before it can be drawn (slow). Even on a fast machine, anal...

Re: Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.

Is there a reasonable mixer/interface you would reccomend for the mono recording? Or would I be just fine deleting the unused stereo track or copying the recorded track? I'd stick with splitting the stereo track and deleting the unused half. It's a bit of a chore, but the Lexicon alpha is a good in...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2.0 running so slow

Currently Audacity only uses one core, so if you see more than one core being used by Audacity, that's something that your OS is doing. On my dual core machine I see Audacity switching from one core to the other, which is due to heat management by the system. On my machine, this switching occurs eve...

Re: Question about Audacity on Debian 8

The Blop plug-ins are very old and unmaintained. There is an open bug report on the Audacity bug tracker that several of the Blop plug-ins cause Audacity to crash. I doubt that anyone will fix the Blop plug-ins, but I would hope that Audacity can be made so that they can be rejected without crashing...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2.0 running so slow

I am using Audacity to sync nine 4.5 hour tracks to review each of them synced time-wise. That is a HUGE amount of data. Assuming 44100 kHz sample rate stereo tracks, that would be close to 50 GB of data. Audacity handles audio in blocks ("blockfiles") that are about 1MB each, so for each...

Re: Not able to record in Mono. Please Help.

My issue is that I am able to record in audacity in the stereo setting with only audio going to the R side. Then when I try to switch to mono (where I want to be) I am getter my no sound input at all. When you record "mono" you get "channel 1" from the Lexicon alpha, which is th...

Re: Importing raw data - or from text list

Second - there is no "Browse" button in the plugin gui Unfortunately that is currently a limitation of Nyquist plug-ins. Hopefully there will be a browse button some time in the future, but for now we have to make do with an ugly workaround of using a text box. This limitation is the main...
