Re: overdub recording
Audacity Device Toolbar > Microphone Symbol (recording). That should be your single recording device such as USB input or Built-In Microphone. It should not be the setting you use for recording YouTube videos. It should not be "Microsoft Sound Mapper" either. You have to explicitly set th...

Re: Playback devices disabled
By the way, I was using Audacity 2.1.0 The current version is 2.1.2 which you can get from the Audacity website here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ But I think that it would be good that this bug (which has also been spotted by ubuntu users), could be solved in the end. It's probably not an &qu...

Re: Avoid hearing previous tracks on new track while recordi
The problem is, I cannot find in any settings (Sound, Microphone, etc...) on my Windows these settings at all. In the Audacity Help menu, select "Audio device info". Wait for the info to appear, then copy the full contents of that window (Click at the start, then scroll down to the bottom...

Re: Inputting third- and fourth-level keys in labels
No need to report it to Audacity. Gale is the main man for tracking Audacity bugs, so he will have logged it alreadyArtorius wrote:Now I can move on to reporting this as a bug, including a link to this topic for reference.
Re: Echo
I bet your laptop has a built-in microphone. Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel at the "Recording" settings.leem wrote:There is NO microphone or other input device attached.

Re: latency corrections
Is it a USB microphone? What make/model?
If not a USB mic, how is it connected to the computer?
The message that you are getting is because the recording is failing as soon as it starts, which is creating a very short track that is "hidden" because it is entirely before time=0.

Re: Can you move part of a track with Timeline?
To move part of an audio track, you need to split the track so that the part that you want to move is a separate audio clip. Example: If you have a 30 second track and you want to move the portion "20 to 30 seconds" so that it is at "25 to 35 seconds", then: 1) Position the curso...

Re: Audacity exports really long songs in export multiple
There's a bug in the current version of Audacity. If you have one track with labels and you Export Multiple based on labels, then the labeled sections are exported correctly. If you have multiple tracks and you Export Multiple based on tracks , then the tracks are exported correctly. The bug: If you...
