Re: what can i use in place of vst instruments

If you want to use VST instruments (and I assume that you are on Windows), I'd recommend Reaper (http://www.reaper.fm/)

Re: Audacity Clock too fast

Audacity does not have a clock. It just uses sample rates. When recording it will request audio at a specific sample rate (by default 44100 samples per second) and it assumes that the audio data it receives has 44100 samples per second. Similarly on playback, it tells the audio system what the sampl...

Re: mic input level not staying 'put'

My first guess - shut down Skype. If that's not it, please tell us more about your set-up. Which version of Windows? Which exact version of Audacity (look in "Help > About Audacity") What are you recording? What hardware are you using? (model numbers are good) Has it ever worked? Anything ...

Re: Help on how to reproduce a certain effect

It sounds to me like a "phase vocoder" effect. You probably can't get that exact same effect with Audacity because it is usually accomplished by pitch shifting under MIDI control, and Audacity does not support MIDI control. You may be able to achieve something similar using GSnap (an optio...

Re: Bluetooth Headphone Use

Audacity only looks for audio devices when it is first launched, unless you specifically tell it to look again. To do that, click on "Transport menu > Rescan audio devices". You will need to "rescan" (or restart Audacity) whenever you attach or remove an audio device.

People often say that and then it turns out not to be the case. Please quote the exact 3 part version number from "Help menu > About Audacity".

Re: 32 bits operations

Do you speak in the Audacity's developer team name ? To know if I have the tiniest chance to be heard. I speak for myself, but I am a developer and I have heard you. I may have been a bit 'blunt' in my initial response, but the facts remain the same. Perhaps I could offer some technical insight. In...

Re: 32 bits operations

I've just test another. This time "RM v CDCHET BAKER BRECKER SCOFIELD Un Poco Loc" In this one the amount of bass and treble has been increased in the FLAC version. The difference in sound is fairly subtle, but can clearly be seen by analyzing the frequency spectrum. The difference in soun...
