Re: Static

I believe this problem occurred quite recently due to Mac updates. It's now listed in the FAQ for the "alpha manual" (the manual that is being written for the next version of Audacity): http://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording_-_Troubleshooting#mac_crackle (normally you should...

Re: Save MP3 files without metadata

I've added your vote for an option to not write metadata on export, and added a note as to why this is important. Please note that this is no guarantee that the feature will be added in the near future as implementing it depends on a developer creating the feature, but fwiw I agree that Audacity sho...

Audacity is open source software and ...

Re: Curious, What happened to the Hard Limiter?

Unfortunately we don't have a nice friendly "reset" mechanism for the plug-in manager, so the way to it up is to delete the file(s) where the plug-in manager saves its settings. There are two files: pluginregistry.cfg This stores the list of effects. pluginsettings.cfg This stores the sett...

Re: ONLY 34 MINUTES OF A 7 HOUR RECORDING IS EXPORTING. HELP

The size of a normal WAV file depends on the number of channels (usually mono or stereo), the sample format (how many bits per sample), and the sample rate (how many samples per second). Size in bytes = <number of channels> x <sample rate> x <bits per sample> / 8 (8 bits = 1 byte) The maximum size f...

Re: Shock mount for use in a restaurant

I'd recommend using a free hosting service initially. The first few attempts at starting a blog are usually rubbish, and if it's not costing money then it gives you the freedom / confidence to experiment. Building up traffic takes time, and you probably don't want much traffic until you've got a goo...
