Re: IMPORTANT: Doubt about graphic spectrum AUDACITY
In the graph ) on the left side, I get negative values, I want to know which are referenced (by Audacity) these values (eg referenced to 1 volt, millivolt, etc.). The dB is referenced to 0 dB being "full scale". The FFT data is normalized such that a 0 dBFS sine wave...

Re: waveform designer for music
What I meant was, do you want the waveform centred vertically. I will assume that you do. So here's a general method that can be used to produce waveforms of any desired shape: To start, draw out the waveform on a piece of paper - graph paper would be ideal: octagonal-waveform.png Note the positions...

Re: How to add silence at the end of a clip
There's already a plug-in that can be used in Chains for adding silence at the end (and/or beginning) of clips.

Re: Peaky notes, EQ and compressor limitations, uncontrollab
this seems a crude way to determine where to set the threshold.. Is this the conventional way? It's far more conventional for compressors to work on peak level rather than RMS. Using RMS by default is one of the peculiarities of the Audacity compressor. the term compression is deceiving to me becau...

Re: waveform designer for music
Nyquist plug-ins are currently only able to have very simple interfaces. A GUI like that other program is not currently possible for Nyquist plug-ins. An alternative approach would be generate a short bit of silence (from the Generate menu), then zoom in very close (http://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

Re: Application Program to download plugins on MAC?
You don't need to open the DeClicker.ny file. It's a "Nyquist plug-in" file. Just save the file, then follow the instructions here to install it: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_ ... st_install

Re: can't get rid from unvanted frequencies
The problem is that the sound is very strongly concentrated around about 300 to 500 Hz, which is close to the bottom end of the frequency range of many laptop speakers. So the speakers are really struggling to produce those tones, resulting in bad sound quality, but if you remove those frequencies, ...

It sounds rubbish on my laptop's built-in speakers, but everything sounds rubbish on my laptop's built-in speakers because the built-in speakers are rubbish.

Open PulseAudio Volume Control and look in the "input Devices" and "Output Devices" tabs. Are any devices shown there?
