Click the "Debug" button rather than the "OK" button to run the code. After you dismiss the message window that says "Nyquist returned the value: 1" there will be a debug window that gives important clues about the first problem.

Hard Limiter has been replaced by a new Limiter effect. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/limiter.html

After restarting Audacity, the old "Hard Limiter" effect should be automatically removed from the Effect menu. If it isn't let us know and we can tell you how to remove it manually.

Truncate Silence looks perfect for that. Settings: "Level:" -80 dB "Duration:" A bit less than the smallest gap. From the image it looks like all gaps are more than 10 seconds, so a setting of "10" would do. "Truncate Detected Silence" (choice menu) "Trun...
