Re: Slim down the Click Track interface

What distinguishes "Rhythm track" from "Click track" is more options e.g. for the first beat and more sounds. If we rename "Click Track" as "Rhythm Track" now, then it's just a new name. There is and need be nothing to distinguish the two because there will b...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface

I don't know. I'm modeling Clueless User for whom "Waltz Time" is a thing and 3/4 Time is pushing it. For Beats per Measure, I'd have to call Gregory the Actual Musician to explain it to me. The basic concept of a "time signature" is pretty straightforward. The top number says h...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface

It does kind of suggest that, but is it really going to generate "rhythms"? A rhythm in 4/4 might have a crotchet, two quavers, crotchet and another crotchet. If it only does four crotchets for 4/4 then it is still a "Click Track". Certainly we could add more rhythm options in d...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea

But as has been demonstrated numerous times, deleting files is exactly what naive users do. And that is despite the warning message, which proves that some users will shoot themselves in the foot no matter what we tell them. The only way that we can guarantee that users don't destroy their computer...

Re: Slim down the Click Track interface

With Nyquist, we can't do "bicycle in an aeroplane" - they have to be separate. Nor do I see how we can link from the simple one to the advanced one without using a significant number of words in the interface to do so. I agree that until there is substantial development of the Audacity/N...

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea

Use case: user prepares for a future editing session by importing say ten different audio files (or even a single one) into a newly opened project as they have the files tto hand right now and don't want to go searching for them in the future. User makes no other changes to the project but simply c...

So what was the problem with the original proposition: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clean"

Re: Evening out the volume on a playlist

If there is a "selection" (part of the track highlighted) then play will begin at the start of the selection and stop at the end of the selection.
