Take a look in the Windows Sound Control Panel in the "Recording" settings. Do you see the green meter responding to your talking?
Try "Rescan audio devices" (near the bottom of the Transport menu, then check in the device toolbar that the correct mic is selected.

If that is the best version that you have, then I doubt that it is possible to make significant improvement because the "damage" (loss of sound quality) due to MP3 encoding is clearly evident, and that can't be fixed.Niku wrote: here is the file.

My guess is that you have paused playback rather than stopping playback. Try clicking the Stop button.
