Re: Exporting files
You should export from Audacity as: "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM". This is the default export option. Also, the sample rate should be 44100. Look in the bottom left corner of the main Audacity window where it says "Project Rate (Hz)" and ensure that is set to 44100 before y...

Re: Export Multiple | Track-Tags (Id3) | don't ask for tags
having this option to NotAsk for tags per-tracks would save me so much time and free me from the hassle "Edit menu > Preferences > Import / Export > Show Metadata Editor prior to export step:" Set to "off" (not selected). http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/import_export_preferen...

Re: Error Importing Audio from Video Files
You said that you have old files that work and new files that don't, so we need to know what the difference is and hopefully then work out what's changed. As Gale suggested, MediaInfo will probably be able to show what the difference is, but note Gale's warning and get the version without the instal...

Re: Exporting for Mixing
Mix and Render of a region seems more of a fringe feature to me. Would you (Steve) find it useful? Yes, quite often, but more importantly, it would provide a simple way to accommodate the needs of both those that want leading white-space rendered as silence, and those that want to omit leading whit...

Re: Implementing a VAD in Audacity
all sections which did not have voice detected. That's the hard part. Your computer has no idea whether the audio data is a voice, or a TV, or car horn, or probably even a spreadsheet. All it sees is "data". Assuming that the data is a valid audio signal, we can analyze certain properties...

Re: Error Importing Audio from Video Files
It would seem that the files that you are now exporting from OBS Studio are in a different format from what you were using previously.
Have a look to see what formats are available from OBS Studio.

Re: Audacity Cutting Peaks on Right Channel
This is the signal chain: ("A/D" is the "Analog to Digital converter.) Analog domain: Vinyl -> Stylus -> Cartridge -> Pre-amp (RIAA equalization) -> Digital domain: A/D USB converter -> Windows sound system -> Audacity -> Hard drive When not using the UFO 202, most of this occurs with...

Re: Audacity Cutting Peaks on Right Channel
Does this problem only occur with some records? Pressings that are designed for club DJs (especially 12" singles) are often "extremely loud" and can overload equipment that is designed for mainstream releases. To check if this problem has anything to do with Audacity (I doubt that it ...

Re: Audacity Cutting Peaks on Right Channel
It looks like the left channel is being clipped also, but not as badly. Most likely the input of the UFO 202 is being overloaded. (I've had a similar problem with the UCA 202 when using a "hot" input signal). Audio Technica LP120USb --> Behringer UFO 202 --> PC/Audacity. Given the name, I ...
