We were aware that some users found the "Percent change" control too difficult, which is why I added the "Speed multiplier".
Do you find the "Speed multiplier" easy and clear enough?

Re: Equalizer range

You've still not told us what you are trying to do and why you need to process frequencies above 20 kHz. If you tell us that, we may be able to suggest a workaround/

Re: Audacity 2.1.2

The best way to record sounds that are playing on your (Windows) computer is to use the "WASAPI loopback" method described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html When possible, it is better (and quicker) to download the media rather th...

Re: audacity 2.1.2 - clipping bar not working

The clipping indicator is certainly working, as demonstrated by the experiment. Clipping can occur below +/- 1.0 in the Audacity track. Clipping will only show up in Audacity when sample values reach or exceed +/- 1.0, but clipping may occur before the signal reaches Audacity. If the A/D converted i...

Re: Upgrading CPU: would it make any difference in my setup?

CPU usage of the effect should be about 25% on a quad core processor because it runs as one thread and so can only utilize one processor core at a time. Upgrading from 3.4 GHz to 4.0 GHz would therefore be expected to save you up to about 9 seconds on a 5 minute track.

Re: Equalizer range

Why don't they go beyond 22khz. Because there is no "sound" above 20 kHz, at least not as far as humans are concerned. I've seen music where the 22h bar is a third of the way up, so there was sound beyond that No, not "sound". There may be frequencies present above 20 kHz but &q...

Re: WaveGain Vs Audacity Effect "Amplify"

The actual level of the audio samples does not affect the file size. http://www.audiomountain.com/tech/audio-file-size.html . Actually, the amplitude does affect the file size for compressed formats. It's easy to see why that happens: If a track has a peak level of say -12 dB, then the sample value...

Re: Equalizer malfunctioning

I know that Steve, that was always my workaround but the forth and back switching does not work any longer, the effect seems to be "frozen" in the draw layout, at least my screen reader sees it like that. In other words, there are no accessible state changes fired (Notify_event). I tested...

Re: Equalizer malfunctioning

I don't think so. The messages are correct after pressing alt-d or alt-g, namely "Draw radio button checked" or "graphic..." respectively. That's certainly weird. Your getting caught by a bug in the mode switching. The bug: When Equalization launches, it always displays the Draw...

Re: Blank audio when uploaded for podcast

How do I prevent the left and right channels from getting "out of phase" in the future for anyone who might listen in mono? I'm not sure why it happened in that part of the file when I pasted in those clips. My guess is that those clips had the problem before you pasted them. Where did yo...
