Re: MP4 Export Bitrate Question

Further more, and no offense, but when did 128 become a good bitrate? back in the 90's before broadband. Koz wrote: "Audacity default good quality MP3 stereo export is or used to be 128" The default MP3 quality in Audacity 2.1.2 is LAME's "Standard" setting (170 - 210 kbps VBR).

Re: horrible beeping noise when recording

I suspect that the noise is electrical interference from your computer.
Have all of your tests been on the same laptop?
Are you able to test on a different computer?
Have you tried disconnecting the power and running the laptop on its batteries?

Re: removing audio from .MOV file

I've successfully opened the .MOV file When you 'open' a file (of any supported media type), Audacity "Imports" the audio data from the file. That is, Audacity accesses the audio data from the file (by default Audacity copies the data into a data folder). Audacity does not directly edit t...

Re: Phase control added to TremVib.ny plugin

As I understand it, each depth percent is 2 cents. So if I had a depth of 100 percent, then would the sound change by 200 cents (or 2 half-steps)? 100 percent gives a vibrato "width" of 4 semitones. That is, the difference between highest and lowest bend is 4 semitones. The pitch bend in ...

Re: Volume Control Function - Just dBFS?

Is this done in Audacity before or after the conversion to 32 bit float? It's not done in Audacity at all. As Gale indicated, the slider is just an alias for the Windows volume slider. It's difficult to give a definitive answers / settings, because the exact behaviour depends on the computer sound ...

Re: Now what about an HQ chirp/sweep?

I don't think this would take too much effort to make, Actually it would be quite a lot of work. In order to produce a high quality waveform, "HQ tone" creates a wavetable from the maximum number of harmonics possible below the Nyquist frequency (the Nyquist frequency is half the sample r...

Re: (Windows 10) Recording using Voicemeeter, 2 USB mics + S

From looking at the Banana documentation it looks like it should be able to do what you want, provided that your computer can handle the amount of data without too many drop-outs, but be assured this is a difficult task for one computer. The "professional" way to handle this would be to us...

Re: (Windows 10) Recording using Voicemeeter, 2 USB mics + S

This doesn't sound like an Audacity problem. but rather a routing problem, in fact I'm wondering why you are complicating the issue by using Audacity when Banana has a recorder built in?

Re: (Windows 10) Recording using Voicemeeter, 2 USB mics + S

So far I've been able to get both mics working on the Skype conversation using Voicemeeter Banana, but when I start recording in Audacity, I can only hear our two Yeti microphones. Skype is recording fine in Audacity and you can hear it in the playback, but for some reason, I can't hear the Skype c...

Re: Timing problem

You could try using a "Time Track" (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_tracks.html)
