Re: finding edited regions

ProTools and Audacity are very different types of program. ProTools is a "real-time DAW" (digital audio workstation) whereas Audacity is a wave editor (sample editor). The two types of program are as different as dance is from sculpture, a movie from a photograph, or a play from a painting...

What is it that you are testing? What's your test procedure and what outcome are you trying to achieve?

Re: save snapshots

If user has not created a snapshot for the current project, Audacity asks confirmation because the current project is replaced by the selected snapshot. I'm a bit confused by this part. I assumed from the rest of the proposal that snapshots would "add" the data that has changed since the ...

Re: Audio playback of ultrasound above 20 kHz.

The problem that you will have with audio equipment is that it is designed for "audio", which by definition means up to about 20 kHz. If you search through manufacturers specifications you may find a device that goes a little higher (perhaps up to 25 kHz) but I think you're unlikely to fin...

Re: Audacity Crashes When Every Time Start Monitoring?

Audacity 2.0.5 That's a very old version. I'd suggest that you check for updates. In the device toolbar , try selecting "HDA ATI SB: ALC892 Analog (hw:0,0))" as both the recording and playback device. You may need to drag the device toolbar wider so that you can see the "hw:0,0"...

Re: Audio playback of ultrasound above 20 kHz.

I think the free audio player "Foobar 2000" (Windows only) can output a DSD stream. I've never tried this, and I don't have suitable hardware for testing, but this article may help: http://www.audiostream.com/content/how- ... foobar2000

Re: Zoom H2n mic/line choices

The shadow is because the toolbar has been dragged out of its dock position (it is now a "floating toolbar"). You can reset the toolbars to their default docked positions with "View menu > Toolbars > Reset". Have a look in "Help > About Audacity" and go to the "Bui...

Re: Zoom H2n mic/line choices

That looks like your computer's built in sound card. When you connect the mic it will prompt you to select "Mic" or storage device. Select the mic option. I think it may then prompt you to select the "Sample Rate" - if it does, select 44100. When that's all done and the mic is co...
