Sorry but I think it's time to slump your shoulders and give up on this recording.

Re: Extracting one specific frequency from a recording
How to extract a specific frequency from the recording and then plot the intensity as a function of time? Discrete "frequencies" (sinusoidal waveforms) only occur in synthesized sounds. In "real world" audio there are always an "infinite" number of frequencies, so the ...

Re: Problem about data management In Audacity
"Sync-Lock" is something that you can turn on/off at any time. Turning it on or off does not change the audio in any way, it just affects what happens when you use command that change the length or position of audio within the project, so in that sense, enabling "Sync-Lock" is a ...

Re: The issue of converting files in audacity
I am sure there must be a way to call Audacity form the command line with instructions to do this process? No. Audacity is almost entirely a "graphical interface" application and has only one (optional) command line argument (a file to import on open). For a command line program, see: htt...

Re: Audacity does not generate pluginregistry.cfg
This is very odd. If Jack is running then there 'must' be at least one device that Audacity can use (assuming that Audacity has been built with Jack support enabled).
Has Audacity ever worked on this machine?
How did you install Jack?
What repositories do you have enabled in sources.list?

Re: Grid Layout Plugin?
Thank you for your contribution 123har456, but you have raised many issues that diverge from the topic under discussion. So that we can remain focussed on the issue stated in the subject line, I shall address your other questions very briefly, and if you want further information, or wish to discus t...

Re: Audacity does not generate pluginregistry.cfg
Fully functional ALSA driver should be the only thing required, assuming that Audacity has been built correctly with all the necessary dependencies.klikkolee wrote:may I ask what besides a fully-functional (in my experience) alsa driver is required?

Re: Project saveAs sets destination folder to read-only firs
Ensure that you are saving to a location that is part of your "user space" (such as "My Documents" or the "Desktop").
