Re: Audacity does not generate pluginregistry.cfg

Since installing from source worked and installing from package did not, would you recommend I contact the package maintainers? Yes I think it's worth filing a bug report with them. If yours is the only report of this issue then they will probably ignore it, but if others have the same problem they...

Re: Is there a better way to correct recorded timing?

Certainly. Effect > Change Pitch/Speed/Tempo. But they don't sound as good as Sliding Time Scale. "Change Speed" has excellent sound quality (better than "Sliding Time Scale") but it changes both tempo and pitch, which may not be suitable for the job in hand. In the next version...

Re: RE: Trying to remove unwanted noise (corrupted recording

Are there any suggestions as to how I can minimise chances of this "glitching" from re-occurring in future recordings? Ensure that you have plenty of free disk space (more that 10% of the hard drive size). Reboot the computer before you start. Avoid running other applications at the same ...

Re: Audacity does not generate pluginregistry.cfg

Unless Gale, or anyone else, has more ideas, I think we've covered all of the easy options. We can see that Audacity is crashing early during its start-up process, but I can't see anything to indicate what is making it crash, and as far as I'm aware it is not a known problem, and is not reproducible...

Re: Audacity recording meter problem

Working with 2.1.2 and a Windows 8.1 Dell laptop 64 bit system with 16 gigs RAM and a terabyte of storage. Have an Audient iD14 preamp hooked up to the laptop through an USB port and am speaking into a Rode NT1-A mic into the line in 1 on the Audient. For some reason the Audacity preferences file c...

Peter.
Yes, please do (I only have obsolete XP, so I can't be sure precisely what you see on later versions of Windows).

If you search the forum for the word "Tinnitus" (search box in top right corner), there's also a couple of other threads on the subject that you may find interesting/useful.

Re: Grid Layout Plugin?

@Steve/Gale: do you think this is a bug? I've just checked on Windows, and yes it's a bug (doesn't happen on Linux), and it's been around for a very long time (reproducible in Audacity 1.3.4 on Windows XP). Testing on XP (the only version of Windows that I have available: Normally, main menu items ...
