Re: UI: Position indicator

Is there a way to have the position indicator appear over all tracks when not hovering over the timeline? That cursor line will appear in all "selected tracks", plus the track that has "focus". A "selected track" is indicated by the control panel on the left of the tra...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse

How can I just select all of the current track without using the mouse? Click on an empty part of the panel on the left end of the track (take care not to accidentally move either of the sliders). Note that the rectangles at the top and bottom of that panel are buttons. More information here: http:...

Re: Removing a single cursor "<" from the timeline

Do you mean arrows like this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/4/47/track_audio_before_zero.png If so, that indicates that there is audio data in the track before the track start. When recording overdubs (more than one track), this is normal due to "latency correction". (See: http:/...

Re: Audacity does not generate pluginregistry.cfg

It is also rarely the case that I want programs to connect directly to the hardware inputs. When using Jack, the "device" options in the "device toolbar" are not restricted to hardware devices. On that page you can see an example of setting Audacity to connect to Hydrogen drum m...

Re: Combining audio files

Initially I had three MP4 video files and had to get the audio from them - so I used Audacity to do that, which resulted in the three mp3 files that I listed in my original post. Using MP3 as an intermediate format is a bad idea. MP3 encoding always reduces the sound quality, so what you are curren...

I have absolutely no idea what that means

What are you trying to record?
What equipment are you using?

Re: transfer drum m/c tracks to flashdrive via audacity 2.1.

You could record the tracks in much the same way as recording a cassette player with Audacity.
There's a set of tutorials in the manual that cover most aspects of the job: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tuto ... to_cd.html
