Re: Spacebar to start play sometimes doesn't work
If I had the time, maybe I'd try to roll back the undesirable wxwidgets changes and fork it. Linux was the main reason that we updated to Wx3. Most distributions have phased out Wx2.8 and were building Audacity with Wx3, which was creating LOTS of serious bug because Audacity was written for Wx2.8....

Re: Mouse & Keyboard behaviour changed?
From a user perspective, I wouldn't call it an improvement either, but it was not our decision.

Re: Silent Brass on Windows 10
I have the requisite electronics package We're guessing that you mean that you have a "Yamaha Silent Brass™ Pickup Mute" with the "Yamaha Personal Studio™ STX-2" ? If so, did you read in the user manual : Do not connect the PHONES jack to a microphone jack (or mic/line jack) on ...

Re: Mouse & Keyboard behaviour changed?
The changes that have been made to the space bar function (for whatever reason) have thrown this process under bus. Your workflow is very similar to what I do, but I don't see why the change in keyboard control has "thrown the process under a bus". Surely if you have simply held down the ...

Re: Need Help With USB Audio Connection
Audacity searches for available audio devices during its start up. It does not look again unless you specifically tell it to: "Transport menu > Rescan audio devices". Normally you would connect the USB device first, wait a few moments for the device to be recognised and connected, and then...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse
Oh and I've just re-read more thouroughly and noticed that Staff0rd is asking for ways of selecting without a mouse - and we've been giving mouse-based solutions  Oh yes, so it does. I read it as "with" mouse (probably because the first part of the post virtually answers the questio...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse
Actullay, from testing just now on 2.1.2 and on alpha 2.1.3 on W10 it appears that double-clickiung in any part of a clip section, wavform or blank area will select just that clip. I'm not used to this stuff as I never use clips myself 8-) Double click on the audio track at position "A" s...

Re: UI: Select (all of) the current track without the mouse
Or you can double-click in the waveform area of the track to select all of a track. Just to clarify: Double clicking on an empty part of the waveform area will select the entire track. Double clicking on audio in a track will select that one audio clip. (if the track contains only one continuous se...
