Re: guitar > 6fire > rakarrack > Audacity

If you want / need to use Jack, then use Jack throughout. Ensure that the sample rate in Audacity ("Edit > Prefereces > Quality") matches the sample rate in QjackCtl setup. (Keep the sample format in Audacity at the default "32-bit float"). Leave rakarrack out of the equation ini...

Re: chain help please!:-)

I am trying to add two extra seconds of silence to the start of multiple ( 1000+) audio tracks. Depending on the commands used, Chains can have problems with very large numbers of files. Best to create and test the Chain with a single file, then apply to a small number of files, and then increase t...

Re: normalizing sections of audio file

Suppose we can sample audio amplitude at every 10 millisecond . So it reads audio amplitude at beginning of file (say s) . reads amplitude after every 10 millisecond . When it encounters sample (say at position x) with amplitude s/2 or 3s/2 (+-50%) it stops, Normalizes the beginning till here . Thi...

Re: Speed slider effect

My guess is that it only takes a bit of modification to change the fade effect to sliding effect, but the percentage values would be different in that they would indicate the deviation, just as it is in the Change Speed command. Unfortunately it is not that simple. Fading is simply a matter of chan...

Re: How do I remove Reverb out of recordings?

I think it's only fair to warn you that eventually you will discover that EVP is actually pareidolia , and no matter how hard you try, it will be impossible to isolate the "spirit voices" because there actually are no spirit voices in the sound produced by "EVP" devices. Don't le...

Re: up date level

The Mixer Board works in an identical manner to the Track Gain sliders (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audio_tracks.html#gain). The sliders change the level at which the track plays, but does not change the actual audio data. To "apply" the change to the audio data (so that it is displ...

Re: how to adjust the recording levels

when I record 78s or lps into the computer How are you doing that? What equipment are you using and how is it connected to the computer? .one is too low and the other is too high. How much difference are you seeing? It would be surprising if the levels were identical , but I'd not usually expect mo...
