Re: Bit rate at 16
Audacity works internally with 32-bit float. (always) By default, Audacity records as 32-bit float. This is an option in Preferences that should be left at the default 32-bit float. When Exporting, Audacity offers many export options, including 16-bit WAV (default), 24-bit WAV, 32-bit WAV, MP3 (requ...

Re: 'Pop' noise when looping
what I'm really referring to is a split-second of silence at the point of loop end / loop start. That's a limitation of the MP3 format. The MP3 format does not precisely define the start of the track, so there is always a little bit of silence at the start of an MP3. If you ensure that your loop po...

Re: Divide tracks by chain
How to change the scheme (add parameters) for step 2 (divide track into 30 min. files)? Sorry but the Chains feature is not yet sophisticated enough to do that. Two essential ingredients are missing: 1)Include features dependent on selecting regions 2) Export Multiple I've added your "vote&quo...

The purpose of the moderation queue is so that we can filter out spam, trolls and other inappropriate posts so as to keep the forum a safe and useful place for genuine Audacity users. It's a bit like; who do you let walk into your house without knocking

Re: Audacity and Behringer sampling rate issue
Try changing the sample rate in the Windows Sound Control Panel to match the Behringer setting (and also the sample rate setting in Audacity "Edit menu > Preferences > Quality", but leave the "sample format" as "32-bit float").

Re: absolute time of recording
Audacity recordings work with time relative to the beginning. Is there a way to get the absolute time of a point in a recording? Is there a recording option doing this? The next version of Audacity is due to be released around the end of the year, and has an option to automatically add the date and...

Re: How to make this kind of loud "radio" effect?
Try applying the "Leveler" effect with "Degree of Leveling" set to "Heaviest". Then repeat the effect a couple of times (Ctrl + R)

Re: guitar > 6fire > rakarrack > Audacity
ON THE G73 I think the problem may be related to the fact that this laptop is an asus-g73 with an i7. I Did a complete reinstall. Sometimes just plugging in the usb 6fire caused a crash. I can't help you with this as I don't know enough about low level audio drivers and I don't have either a 6fire ...
