Re: Audacity Light

Re: Amplify slider
That is technically true, but if you try exporting a file that goes a long way over 0 dB, and then import it back into Audacity, you will see that it is still clipped. (I presume that this is a limitation of the encoder, or decoder, or both).DVDdoug wrote: * MP3 is not limited to 0dB

Re: Nyquist effects missing
I upgraded to 2.1.2 (via .dmg); It looks like you may be trying to run Audacity directly from the DMG. That won't work properly. Ensure that you have fully installed Audacity following these instructions: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ When the installation is complete, eject the DMG &qu...

Re: absolute time of recording
1) Press "Record" - The timeline / Selection toolbar shows 26th Nov 13:02.050 (or something like)
2) Press "Pause" - Now the time shows as 13:12.123
3) Unpause - what time is it now?

Re: Bit rate at 16
This is mostly foreign language to me. I'll be gentle ;) Leave the "recording" and "quality" settings in Audacity at their defaults. They are well chosen for high quality work. The only things that you are likely to need to change are the "number of channels", which fo...

Re: absolute time of recording
Window on the bottom? Point to a place on an hour recording. If you mean while it is recording, just look at the "Length". Wasn't there a thing about not being able to get seconds or fractional seconds from Windows? When writing to disk, the precision (granularity) of the time stamp depen...
