I don't recall the version, but it was added as an option quite a long time ago. It wasn't an option in old versions.kozikowski wrote:I wondered if collapse to zero was an option.

You've not said which version of Audacity (see: "Audacity menu > About Audacity")

Re: Effect > Truncate Silence
The minimum "detection" duration is 0.001 seconds (1 ms).
The minimum "Truncate to:" ("action") is 0.0 seconds (remove the detected silence entirely / collapse to zero).

Re: Alternative download location
I appreciate your point majkinetor, but (a) FossHub is currently the only official download location for Audacity binaries. (the source code is available on GitHub) (b) The Audacity team unanimously agree that they want to keep Audacity free of charge for users (c) The long term sustainability of th...

Re: Alternative download location
FossHub is the only official download partner for Audacity. Given that Audacity is free software, and expenses are primarily met from advertising revenue generated by FossHub downloads, I don't see that it would be in the best interests of Audacity to give the Audacity download partnership, hence Au...
Re: Crashing
If the computer is crashing, then it's almost certainly a driver problem - not much else can crash a computer these days. If it's a branded computer, check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers.

Re: Vamp plugins won't enable
There appears to be a bug with the latest version of the Queen Mary plugin set (it's listed in the Audacity 2.1.2 Release Notes: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Relea ... .28VAMP.29)
See the above link for a version that works in Audacity.
I don't know about the BeatRoot plug-in.

Re: Professional sounding fade out.
Glad you like the plug-in TriciaLynn. The current version of Audacity has this effect as standard, though the name has changed to "Studio Fade Out" http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/fades.html#studio_fadeout Your effort in learning how to install plug-ins is not wasted, as there are many ...

Re: Stopping after each song
Audacity is not a good media player - it's not designed for the job. Parole is a good, but very lightweight media. It does not have many options. I don't think it has an option to stop after the current track. DeaDBeeF is also fairly lightweight, but is quite rich in features and does have an option...
