Re: How to get Bandstop Nyquist Plugito show up in Plugin Ma
Do other Nyquist effects work? For example, in the Effect menu, do you have "Low Pass Filter" and "High Pass Filter"?

Re: A Noobish Question?
Audacity can only record from one "device" at a time.
I've no idea how the other software you are using works, but if it is creating a "virtual device", then Audacity should be able to record from as many "channels" (streams) as that device makes available.

Re: Audio desync caused by Audacity
Unfortunately, the "clock" built into consumer level devices are often not very accurate, so when you intend to record with a sample rate of 44100 Hz, you may actually be recording with a sample rate of 44099 Hz or 44101 Hz. Differences between the sample rates of different devices will ca...

Re: How to get Bandstop Nyquist Plugito show up in Plugin Ma
Assuming that you are referring to this plug-in: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Band_Stop_Filter The file name should be exactly: "bandstop.ny" (without quotes and without ".txt") Instructions for downloading plug-ins from the Audacity wiki are here: ht...

Re: Damaged stereo channels
There's also the "Channel Mixer" effect that allows you (amongst other things) to copy one channel to the other. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Channel_Mixer Installation instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/effect_menu.html#nyquist_effects For r...

Re: Building a Help project
Perhaps it is best to post it elsewhere. I'd be interested to see your notes cmjone, and in the new year I 'may' be in a position to try them out (depending on whether my new computer comes with Windows installed or not). When you're ready, I'd suggest that you post them as a new topic in this (&qu...

Re: Multiple microphones
If you are recording a podcast with two people on diferent microphones, you should be able to hear each other through your head phones. Sure, if you are using appropriate hardware then that is easy to do. In my home studio I run up to 8 microphones into a mixer that has 2 headphone outputs, each of...

Re: Multiple microphones
I think this is a question for VAC support.
Audacity can only record from one device at a time and only play through one device at a time.

Re: Audio desync caused by Audacity
How much is it going out of sync?
I presume that there is no physical or electronic synchronisation mechanism between your two recording systems (such as a common "Word Clock" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word_clock) - in other words, the two recording systems are freewheeling?

Re: Audio desync caused by Audacity
Perhaps you have inadvertently enabled "Sound Activated Recording". That should normally be off (not selected). See near the bottom of the "Transport" menu.Akari_Tsukino wrote:There are times when I'm not saying anything, and Audacity seems to be shrinking those points
