Re: sound plays back as noise
As Trebor wrote, there are discontinuities in the waveform, so the primary problem is not to do with Windows Enhancements. I have recorded using other programs on this PC and they record clearly. Therefore, I suppose it's not the PC's microphone or driver. That's not a safe assumption because there ...

Re: Unable to start recording
Connect the Scarlett 2i4 usb interface before you start Audacity. Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel that it is working as a recording device (you should see a green meter in the Recording tab that jumps up and down when there is audio input to the 2i4). Then launch Audacity. In the device too...

Re: Native komplete6 rec problems on audacity
If you set Audacity to use WASAPI as the "host" in the device toolbar , is there a "loopback" option in the recording devices for the komplete6 device? If so, try using that. (for more information, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_wi...

Re: Can't save Audacity projects in a custom location.
This is a Windows restriction (also applies to most other modern operating systems). User data should not be saved within system space ("Program Files" belongs to the operating system). Save your data in disk space allocated for user files (such as your "Documents" or "Music...

Re: Abrupt high and low pass filtering
Very steep filters can be created using Audacity's Equalization effect in "Draw" mode. For very steep filters, set the "Length of filter" to maximum. Move the lower vertical slider on the right to scale the graph so that you can see down to -120 dB (see illustration). Here is an ...

Saving multiple channels in one OGG file [CLOSED]
What I mean 'in a weird way' is, the channels of an odd number are copied to the next number to 'fill' in the even numbers with the previous odd number. Mogg files may contain multiple stereo tracks, in which case the number of each stereo track will correspond to the odd numbers of channels - the ...

Re: Native komplete6 rec problems on audacity
Where does the sound that you want to record come from?
Audacity does not record MIDI.

Re: crosstalk between hard panned tracks
My guess is that the bleed-through is happening in the headphone cable. Do you have any way to test that? (perhaps make a CD with a click track in one channel and music in the other).

Re: Recording Monitor Level?
A Behringer UCA-202 (or the "222" version) may work for you (it's what I use). They are inexpensive (around $30 US) and give great sound quality for the price. The main drawback is that they don't have an input volume control, so it is possible that with a very loud tape, the sound card in...

Re: Audacity buttons mess up.
This does not sound like a known problem. Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in "Help > About Audacity") Which version of Windows? What do you need to do to reproduce the problem? Please post a screenshot to show what you mean. See here for how to attach an image to your post: ...
