They're absolutely fine for a couple of weeks.
The CD player in my car has a CD stuck in it thanks to a stick-on label that is more than a couple of weeks old. :(

Re: Click Removal Doesn't Work

Unfortunately the Click Removal effect is rather poor at detecting clicks. Hopefully this will be improved in a later version of Audacity.
I would also recommend this article: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tuto ... iques.html

Re: Multipiste track editing

You can make the selection in one track, then "Edit menu > Select > In all tracks (Shift + Ctrl + K)" to extend the selection to all tracks, then Ctrl+Click in the panel on the left end of a track to toggle the selection off for that one track. This will (quickly) give you all tracks selec...

Re: Tracks on screen too large vertically

You can also manually change the height of tracks, either by dragging the bottom edge of the track with your mouse, or with the "View menu > Fit Vertically" command. Tracks can also be "collapsed" to minimum height, either by clicking on the button at the bottom of the panel on t...

Re: question about the cd burning side of things.

1. i will burn onto a cd-r and absolutely not a cd-rw? 2. i will use software that supports gapless burning ie that supports disc at once? For best compatibility, use CD-R not CD-RW. Ensure that you burn the disk as an "audio CD" NOT a "data CD". For a "gapless" CD, th...

Re: Buffer recording

Any way to do a buffer recording, say keep recording the last five-ten seconds, and saving the file when a hotkey/button is pressed? Audacity does not do that. Perhaps "Radiodelay" by Daan Systems can do what you want (I've not tried this software myself, so don't treat this as a "re...

Re: timeline

Is it possible to show the timeline as the 'actual time of the day', ie have the start of the session show (for example) "12:11:40" rather that having it start as "0"?? It's not currently possible, but would it be sufficient if a new feature allowed an arbitrary offset for the T...

Re: Randomly get "error input" message DURING recording

when I do rescan audio devices it appears that nothing happens. what is supposed to happen? Audacity looks to see what audio devices are available. It works like 99% of the time its just like very randomly it just stopped. If the USB audio connection is lost, even momentarily, then it will mess up ...

Re: Mass .WMA conversion?

fre:ac (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fre:ac) seems to have good handling for large batch operations. It supports .WMA, but I don't know about lossless WMA and I don't have any lossless WMA files to test. Assuming that your files are 16-bit lossless, any batch converter based on FFmpeg should be abl...

Re: timeline

How do the grown up DAWs display timecode in files? The grown up DAWs handle time much the same as we do, where time is local to the project. That is, all time measurements are relative to some "time zero" - the beginning of the project. Surveillance recorders on the other hand, work more...
