Re: Punch Copy/Paste Need an Example
1) Select some audio (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audacity_selection.html) 2) Open the "Punch Copy" effect and with the default settings*, click the OK button. The selected audio is copied to the effect's clipboard. 3) Select another piece of audio. This is the audio that will be ov...

Re: Unexpectedly Quit....
Be careful Curley. My guess is that the fan has a faulty switch and it's putting a spike through the AC circuit that's affecting your computer. Might be best to have the fan and the power socket checked out by an electrician (or if it's just a cheap fan, trash it).

Re: auto moving waveform while playing
The next version of Audacity (2.1.3) which is due for release soon, has a new feature called "Pinned record/play head". Essentially what it does is to keep the play position ("play head") fixed ("pinned") at the centre of the screen. More information is available in the...

Re: timeline
I thought it might be possible to handle it just as a display feature in the XML. Of course it has got to be undo and redoable with the insertions and deletions. Re: USB microphone with low recording level
I get nervous about false statement like: "USB only proides 2,5 W power. That is not enough for a good mic preamp". If you've seen a review of the X2u that says that it does not provide adequate phantom power, it would be more useful to give a link than make an unsupported sweeping stateme...

One causes a shock that one piezo sensor registers and another one retrieves further in a material: the propagation time of the wave in the material is measured. OK, sounds interesting. So I presume that you are ab...

Re: Online version of Audacity
is there anyone that provides online version of Audacity (type TwistedWave) for editing. No, there is no online version of Audacity. "Audacity" is a registered trademark, and there is only one audio application that can legally use the name "Audacity". The website for Audacity i...

Re: Recording with Firebox through Jack and FFado
Have you tried enabling the +12 dB boost? (the manual is available here: http://www.presonus.com/products/FireBox/downloads)autumnleaves wrote:Yes, I do have it working (Jackd+FFADO Mixer+Audacity), but the gain is quite low.
