Re: Audio runs out of sync
Theyre studio level If they are "professional studio level" then the solution is to link them to a common "word clock" (See: http://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/does-your-studio-need-digital-master-clock). External clock synchronisation is generally only available for profess...

Re: Unable to save when disk space low
On Linux, temporary "files" are cleaned up when the project is closed, but (empty) folders may still exist if other Audacity projects are still open. Redundant temporary folders are cleaned up when the "Audacity session" ("all" open projects) closes. I imagine this is t...

Re: the status line says "Actual Rate: 44100"
I'd need to check the code to be sure, but I believe that it means that Audacity is communicating with your sound card at 44100. That should not be a problem for "audio" as 44100 Hz sample rate gives you an audio bandwidth up to 20 kHz, which is the limit of human hearing. Why do you want ...

The top of the range Behringer console is around $2k US, whereas the equivalent model by Midas is closer to $4k and you can pay upward of $20k for a big Midas console.

Re: Is the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 a good audio interface?
The noise value of a carbon composition resistor sitting there on the counter by itself is about that number. One of the reasons why metal film resistors were invented. Midas was a late adopter of transformerless microphone pre-amps. At the RollsRoyce end of the market, the high cost of transformer...

Re: Is the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 a good audio interface?
So the Midas and Xenyx preamps are significantly different, beyond just name? If you look closely at Behringer's advertising copy, it says: "BEHRINGER is proud to incorporate a MIDAS designed mic preamp for the ultimate in high-quality audio reproduction in both live and studio environments.&q...

Re: ART USB Dual Pre digital artifact
I managed to try the Coles with a DR-100mk2. Here is the unmodified test recording. Any impressions? It's clipping at +/- 0.5 You can see it clearly if you zoom in close: firsttrack004.png I'm not familiar with the DR-100mk2, but I'm guessing that it's a similar issue that I've seen on the Zoom H2....
