Re: add/remove plugin option not on my effect menu
Make sure that you have the 32-bit version and not the 64-bit version (Audacity is a 32-bit application and does not support 64-bit VSTs.)

Fibonacci calculator
Probably not very useful for audio, but perhaps of interest for some. Here's a simple Fibonacci number calculator that can be run in the Nyquist Prompt effect . Q. Why is the maximum value of "n" 46? A. Because Nyquist calculates using 32-bit numbers and the 47th term of the Fibonacci seri...

Re: Can I have a stereo track from one microphone?
When it comes to mixing may I work with mono and stereo tracks? Yes, absolutely. When recording multi-tracks, such as when overdubbing , it is usual to record mono sources (such as "a microphone") as mono tracks, and stereo sources (such as an "A/B stereo pair" of mics, or a ste...

Anyone tried a "DP-006 Digital 6-Track Pocketstudio" (about$100) for audiobook production?

Re: Two instances of Audacity.app?
If you add a "Portable Settings" folder (no quotes in the name) where Audacity.app is, that "Portable Settings" folder will have its own audacity.cfg file (just run Audacity to create the file). Audacity will then look at that audacity.cfg file for its settings. If you want to s...

Re: Can I have a stereo track from one microphone?
Let me give you an easier way:
1) Record in mono.
2) Pan the track however you like, or leave it centred.
3) There is no step 3.

Re: Slide pitch with LINEAR rate
That means, the speed of the change is much faster in the beginning then it is in the end. I am trying to get a linear bend (constant speed of change). As a workaround, apply half of the amount of pitch shift twice. In this example, 6 semitones stretch was applied twice to the upper track, and 12 s...

Re: Slide pitch with LINEAR rate
I've learned this page (from 2012) that apparently there used to be an option called "Slide Types" for "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" effect. It allowed one to choose between geometric (logarithmic) and linear change. But I don't see this option in the current version. The c...
