Re: file names missing or not showing correctly in Import>Au
How do you enter the names? Do you type them, or copy and paste? Are you using an English keyboard? Not enough information in "Part 1" to diagnose the problem, but given "Part 2" I'd guess that it could be due to character encoding. Part 2: Yes, probably due to non-Unicode charac...

Re: generating f(x) type wave forms?
There's an example in my most recent reply to your other topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=324116#p324116 This example generates a pulse derived from: y = c^-(x^2) In brief, create an array to hold the 'y' values, and populate the array, mapping the array index values to 'x' value...

Re: Calculate / Display Byte Offsets in WAV Files by Audacit
Audacity won't be much help with this because Audacity does not act directly on audio files. Audacity "imports" the audio data (copies the audio data from the file) and acts on the imported data. WAV files are a form of RIFF file. Detailed information about the format is readily available....

Re: Is there a way to get the old noise remover in 2.1.2?
There has never been a "2.1.6" version of Audacity. I'm guessing that you meant "1.2.6". The new version does not need to be more difficult. You can just set the bottom two sliders to "6" and "3" respectively (as shown in the manual ) and then ignore them fore...

Re: Suddenly Exporting is 100X Longer
Producing work with MP3s as the source material is like making photocopies of photocopies. The quality deteriorates with each generation. Much better to work with uncompressed WAV files. 1) Import the 20 second clip WAV file. 2) Import the podcast WAV file 3) Use the Time Shift tool to drag the podc...

Re: default export to mp3 not aiff
does take a considerable amount of time to do this when it is a large quanity of files. [e.g.] 20 seconds a file times 2500 files? I don't understand. If it takes 5 seconds to type the file name "abcdefg", then it does not take 25 seconds to type "abcdefg.wav". What are you doin...

Re: Eliminate Doppler Effect
I don't think it's possible to do this precisely, but you could try this experimental plug-in for evening out the level: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=194179#p194179 and try the "Time Track" feature for adjusting the pitch: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_tracks.htm...

Re: Noise Gate Issue
As a guess I'd say that it sounds like the same problem as described (and resolved) here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 47&t=95137
