Re: Silent Subliminals [solved?]
When I open them with audacity and I have to change the frequency from 22 050 Hz to 44 100 Hz, because the silent plugh-in requires it. No. You need to change the " sample rate ". The sample rate must be more than double the frequency of the modulation carrier frequency. So, for example, ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 recording fine, playback is scrambled
Perhaps your computer is due for some tlc (routine maintenance): Uninstall any applications that you never use. Disable start-up items that you don't need. Remove any web browser toolbars that you don't need. Delete obsolete documents / photos / videos / ... that you no longer need. Remove browser p...

Re: Sequence of Normalize and Limiter
For my question I should have been more specific. After the editing process is done and I apply the full Normalize effect at the end, does it make sense that the audio would still have a few peaks that I would apply a Limiter to? Or, if there are some straggly peaks after the final Normalize effect...

Re: Noise Gate for removing microphone spill - keychain idea
I'm guessing that you are referring to this Noise Gate: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Noise_Gate (For optional plug-ins, it helps if you give a link so that we know what you're talking about.) I'll assume that is the plug-in that you are referring to, and answer according...

Re: Peaky notes, EQ and compressor limitations, uncontrollab
I like the way that people that went to school for this stuff and KNOW'' are strangely absent around here! (well, there's a few - but not enough shared IMO) --- Even retired music engineers strangely silent in these matters (Where are they? On Facebook posting cat videos?) It's almost impossible to...

Re: Peaky notes, EQ and compressor limitations, uncontrollab
I was - on the email list - or so I thought--? The email list for announcements were sent from our old SourceForge hosting provider. As the Audacity project is no longer hosted there, that email list has gone by the wayside. We are looking to make more use of social media, so if you follow Audacity...

Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech
I'll leave most of the points that you raise to Paul (the developer) as I find the code almost incomprehensible. I've also noticed that it never uses more than about 20% of system resources Audacity is almost exclusively "single core" at present, so on a 4 core machine you are likely to se...
