Re: Having to set recording level meter really low. Normal?
OK, so you've got:: 1) Tape player: Fixed output level. Fixed noise level (dependent on tape noise). -> going into -> Citronic: Adjustable input gain level -> A/D converter -> USB -> Noise level may change with gain level. -> going into -> Computer: Adjustable input level (digital) -> Recording appl...

Is there an output level control for those outputs, or is it fixed "line-level"?7track wrote: I'm coming out of my tape deck (stereo RCA L&R)

How do you do that?theprawn26 wrote:I record skype conversations in stereo,
Audacity will only do what you tell it to. It is not able to automatically edit on import, so something else must be occurring.theprawn26 wrote:I don't want Audacity to cut bits out.

Re: Vamp plugins in Audacity 2.1.2
I have tried also to use it with Sonic Visualizer which sees it but it doesn't work well. I see that on their website they demo Melodia in Sonic Visualize, so I'd guess that is as good as it gets (http://mtg.upf.edu/technologies/melodia).
