Re: Why am I IP banned?
Did you have a question that is clearly about Audacity? For the benefit of all our users, we have a strict policy of not allowing spam or unauthorised advertisements. Occasionally (but extremely rare) this can cause genuine users to be locked out of the forum, for example if someone with the same IP...

Select the recording input and playback output devices that you want to use in the device toolbar.Kip Cutshaw wrote:Has anyone figured out how do I disable internal sound in Audacity?

Re: BBC Meters
Oh, and can you make the meters come to rest full up when you power Audacity off? That bit's a joke, yes? I think meters are an example of a feature that would benefit greatly from "modular plug-in" design. Unfortunately, there has been no development of the "modules" API...

Re: unmatching song length and original track playing
is it a problem with iTunes and not with Audacity? Probably (I can't think what else it might be). I don't use iTunes myself, but there's a couple of bits in the Audacity manual that may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_how_to_import_files_from_itunes.html http://manual.audacitytea...

Re: Windows 10 and Audacity 2.1.0
The current version of Audacity is 2.1.3. You can get it here: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ The recommended "installer" version includes the full user manual which includes sections about recording from USB turntables (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_...

Re: Turning on and off effects
Recent versions of Audacity support "real-time preview" for LADSPA, LV2, VST and some built-in effects. In Audacity 2.1.3, the built-in effects that support real-time preview are: Bass and Treble Distortion Phaser WahWah See here for more information: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/rea...

Re: Wont upload whole audio file
How do you know that the file is 55 minutes long and not 29 minutes long?
Does the 29 minutes that imports, play correctly?
Where did this file come from?
Are you importing it from an external drive?

Re: Audacity did not recognize the type of file
Voice recorders are notorious for using weird formats.
Have you installed FFmpeg? If not, you could try installing FFmpeg (instructions here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_ ... tml#ffdown) and if you are very lucky, that may enable Audacity to import the file.

Re: Size column entries in History are on the wrong lines
I agree it is confusing, but it is by design (and I was out voted). The "size" numbers represent the amount of disk space that will be recovered when using "discard levels", not the amount of space that was used when doing the listed command (so not the amount of space that will ...
