Re: Manage Macros
It would surely be better on the right as you are Saving the editing that you are doing on that current focused Macro - the Save is the final part of the editing. I considered that, and there's more space for it on that side, but looking at the buttons in the left column and what they do: New => ma...

Re: Audacity vanishes after last windows update
Thanks for the report. There have been a couple of other recent reports of weirdness after a Windows update. I don't yet know what's going on, but I'm hoping that either Microsoft will fix it promptly, or a pattern will emerge so that we can find a workaround. I will install again Please keep us inf...

Re: Manage Macros
My suggestion: Add a "Save" button in the left column. When pressed, any changes are saved and you will not be nagged to save changes. Change the "Cancel" button to "Close". If there are unsaved changes you will be prompted to save changes before the dialog closes. Mana...

Re: Manage Macros
Doesn't "Cancel" (as currently displayed) mean revert everything? By convention, "Cancel" means "revert changes and close the dialog", which is what both I and FL Coast assumed that it meant: " By having only "Cancel" I was not pressing that button in fe...

Re: Manage Macros
Under the Manage Macros, if you edit a macro, there is no "OK" button to initiate the save. Apparently this is intentional :? From the Audacity bug tracker: Bug 2524 - Macros "OK" button is confusing - doesn't do "what it says on the tin" Comment #3 OK button does much...

Re: Can I export files in Audacity for commersial use?
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this does NOT constitute legal advice. I downloaded the program around one year ago You may have an old version. The current version is 2.4.2 and a new version (Audacity 3.0.0) is due to be released very soon. I wonder if all functions in Audacity is free to use for...

Re: Sound design icons for the Mixer Board
Ah, ok, so not a design choice. No, just an "hours in the day" thing ;) I expect that in the future ("eventually") Audacity will not only have "gain envelopes" (as now), but will have "controller envelopes" that can control many things, including track gain, ...

Re: Does "Detect Dropout" pause recording?
Is this down to the Detect Dropouts function, if a dropout happens does Audacity 'pause' the recording if this function is enabled? No it doesn't. It just adds a label when it detects a dropout. And if not does anyone have an idea of why my recording could have ended up with this 9 second skip in i...
