Re: Copy from 'code' text

Firefox 53.0 64-bit Linux. The same problem as Firefox on Windows 10. This is a new 'bug', so I'm now wondering if it is related to the recent changes on the server. This part is now fixed. If anyone still finds "Select All" not working in Firefox on Linux, try reloading the page (Ctrl + ...

Re: Which mic better

Mic A is my original AudioTechnica ATT2020 USB+ mic. I think I may use it as my travel mic if both mics sound the same. Books produced on this mic with the above editing have passed ACX. Mic B is the Rode NT1A on XLR-USB adapter, that the store guy said would be an upgrade to my AudioTechnica. The ...

Re: Which mic better

With no processing at all: I slightly prefer "A" when listening through (good) speakers, though it sounds a little harsh through headphones. "B" is a bit "smoother" and easier to listen to on headphones, but to my ear it lacks a bit of clarity, and there's a couple of s...

Re: Reduce voice not eliminate

Here's the result of a test where I expected a reasonable amount of separation. The files were originally 16-bit WAV, which I've converted to Ogg format to reduce the size so that I could upload to the forum. I've converted all processed files to mono to reduce file size and normalized to -3 dB. The...

Re: Hissing noise in PSB-7 Spirit Box Audio

Noise-reduction will generate processing-artifacts, some of which can sound like speech. The sample that caseyparnell posted is prior to noise reduction, and there is clearly a voice-like sound around 44 seconds. My best guess of where that voice-like sound comes from is that it is a fleeting snipp...

Re: Hissing noise in PSB-7 Spirit Box Audio

To apply Noise Reduction multiple times, you need to make a new "noise profile" for each pass. Listen closely at 44 seconds. Theres a voice that says Melissa. I can hear a voice-like sound, but to me it sounds like it's saying " where ya vest today <squeak>" Z0000110.wav

Re: swap out "Change tempo" for something better

Get the current version of Audacity 2.1.3 from here: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ can't we just use the "Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift" algorithm underneath and keep the Change Tempo UI? That's exactly what I've done. To use the SBSMS algorithm, select the "High Quality"...

Re: Installing ASIO in Audacity

Oh, and I posted to the wrong area too, I think? No problem, at least we know that you are on Windows. I've moved this topic to the "Compiling Audacity" board. I would recommend that you first build a vanilla Release version of Audacity 2.1.3. You will need the full Audacity source code, ...

Re: Mic Recording Volume jumps to zero

Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel in the Recording tab and see if your mic is working (you should see a green meter jumping up and down when you peak into the mic).

Which version of Audacity? (look in "Help > About Audacity")
