Re: RMS Normalize
When using my 15" laptop monitor only 6 of the 19 below-the-line effects appear On Windows you should be able to scroll down the list. Also on Windows, when the Effect menu is open, pressing (for example) the "L" key, will jump down to the first effect beginning with "L". P...

Re: Multitrack recording Behringer X18
Can I record the 18 tracks from a Behringer X18 mixer. According to this post (https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=320444#p320444) the Behringer X32 works, so I'd think there's a good chance with the X18. I don't recall anyone giving specific information on this forum about the X18. so l...

Re: monitoring problem
What you are trying to do is called "overdubbing" (or "overdub recording"). There's a tutorial in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tuto ... rdubs.html

Perhaps you're not looking low enough down the list of effects. By default it is below the dividing line.pato wrote:the Effect drop-down menu doesn't show RMS Normalize or Limiter

Re: Mastering an ACX Fail
What? We're supposed to be reading in a monotone? Not what you said they said. It's a compromise between being interestingly dynamic, and jarringly dynamic. "My only other comment is that this file is a bit too dynamic. Consistency in audio levels, tone, noise level, spacing, and pronunciation...

Re: Recording In Mono Question
why does Audacity cap my audio at -6 DB when recording in mono? "Audacity" doesn't. It's a quirk of the way that some sound card drivers behave. Is that a setting I can change? The official answer is to set Audacity to record 2 channel stereo, then when you finish, split the track to 2 mo...

Nyquist Effect version numbers
Every plug-in has a "Manage" button with an "About" menu item in it, and in that menu is a field for "Version:". Currently, that can't be used by Nyquist plug-ins, but I think it would be useful it could. For "official" plug-ins (including plug-ins on the wiki...

Re: Mastering an ACX Fail
I've been working on a new tool which aims to give more information and alert the producer to 'possible issues' rather than a cozy pass/fail 'answer'. Note that the labels do not necessarily mean that the audio is "bad" or "wrong". They just indicate that the producer should revi...
