Re: Finding f0 and pitch
For pitch, I have been going to effects then to change pitch. This provides a starting pitch. However, I am not sure if this is the best method to use. Re: Amplify/Normalize chain predicament

Which as I understand is what Amplify does when the New Peak Amplitude setting is used. Yes, you need Amplify fo...

Re: may i update encoders ?
Audacity ships with built-in encoders for several formats, including WAV, AIFF, OGG and FLAC. These can only be updated by updating the Audacity source code, making whatever changes are necessary to ensure compatibility, and rebuilding the application (Some information about building Audacity on Win...

Re: Amplify/Normalize chain predicament
What I want to do is essentially achieved by importing a set of tracks, selecting all, and Amplifying them to a given New Peak Amplitude. So you want each of the files to have the same peak amplitude? If so, then use Normalize in a Chain. as the Audacity manual states, Hmm.. that's not very clear i...

Re: AudioBook Mastering—Subaudible Noise
I wish it was appropriate all the time, but it can do a number on someone with a "broadcasting" voice. There's your answer: Use it, and if destroys the rich deep timbre of your voice, undo and don't use it. Somewhere along the line, someone has to make a judgement call - it's better, or i...
