Re: AUP File Won't Open
Side note -- it is saved as an iTunes files (although still aup) because I was fooling around trying to get it to work and when I tried to open the file with itunes it was converted and I couldn't see how to change it back. Only Audacity can open Audacity projects. To create a normal audio file, us...

Re: AUP File Won't Open
Unfortunately the file is corrupt. If you open it in NotePad it will probably appear completely empty, though as can be seen from the file size that is not actually true. The file is full of "NULL" characters. corrupt.png If the project was an unedited recording, then there is a (slim) cha...

Re: want to hear a voice too low in a recorded conversation
On Windows 10 in 2.2.0-alpha, http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Hyperexp appears in the Effect Menu for me. Thanks Gale. @Trebor, there can be weird things happen if a different version has been previously installed. Could you try temporarily moving the files, audacity.cfg, ...

Re: want to hear a voice too low in a recorded conversation
For some reason Steven Jones's original Hyperexp plugin would not even appear in the effect menu of Audacity 2.1.3 Really? :? You mean the version on the wiki? I wonder why that is. I see quite a lot of "peculiarities" in the coding style of the original. What's your best guess as to what...

Re: bit perfect recording
My choice of operating system is not up for discussion.
As a practical suggestion, you could use Wavosaur for recording. It has ASIO support. It's not open source, but it is free. If you prefer to edit in Audacity, you can save your recording from Wavosaur, then import them into Audacity for editing.

Re: How to remove play head icon
It's not optional. You would need to modify the source code and build a custom version of Audacity.pea83 wrote:How do I remove the play head icon. The icon circled in red.
See here for what it does: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/timeline.html#pinned
Why do you want to remove it? What's the problem?

Re: want to hear a voice too low in a recorded conversation
Very badly named (it actually does upward compression based on the RMS level), but works pretty well.Trebor wrote:HyperExpand
It seems to be essentially the same as this (slightly later?) version on the Audacity wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyqui ... s#Hyperexp

Re: AUP File Won't Open
My guess is that the AUP file is damaged / corrupted. This can happen if the computer shuts down while the project is still being written to disk. If you attach the AUP file to your reply, we can take a look to see if it is damaged / corrupted. See here for how to attach a file to your reply: https:...

Re: Effects in real time
Is it possible to control volume, speed and effects in real time, when a file is played with audacity? Volume: Yes. For the overall volume, use Mixer Toolbar: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/mixer_toolbar.html or the computer sound system control, or the volume control on your amp / speakers. Fo...
