Re: Debian repo

The problem with using the "wrong" (newer or older) version of an application, rather than the distro version, is that it may be built against different shared library versions. That 'could' cause problems if a library that Audacity is built against is not fully compatible with the library...

Re: Finding a sound snippet

Possibly yes, though I'd need to experiment to find a reliable way of doing so.
Could you post a longer sample which includes some of the speech. MP3 or OGG format will be OK on this occasion.

Re: Slow down audio effect

You could try the "Turntable Warping MS" plug-in http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyqui ... Warping_MS
Instructions for installing are here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Downl ... ns#install

Re: Slide effect - HELP NEEDED

The parameters in my Slide effect are actually pretty simple really - "Initial deviation" and "Final deviation", but rather than in semitones it would be in percentages. So I guess I'd have to delete the calculation of converting steps to a ratio? You still need to create the &q...

Re: Nyquist wavetable size limit?

Looks like you're right. I'm on Linux so it's not Windows only, and I tested on the current (alpha) development code. The maximum table size is actually 999,999 samples. A simple test using the Nyquist Prompt: (hzosc 0.5 (maketable *track*)) When run with the Debug button, returns: error: maximum ta...

Set Audacity to record "1 channel (mono)" in the device toolbar.

Re: Export Question

The waveform is actually at approx 0.5, This is a normal recoding with peaks going up to around 0.8 (about -3 dB). You should not record higher than this. Generally it is safer to record a little lower. http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/3/37/track_example_mono.png This is a track that has bee...

Read the instructions in the alpha manual. I gave you the link in my previous post.
If you can't do that, please use the current release version which we provide technical support for.

Re: Zoomering.

Are you referring to the new "Stem Plot" rather that "Connect the dots" representation of audio samples? http://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/m/images/e/ef/Connect_dots_%26_Stem_plot_examples.png Please note that alpha software and nightly builds are not intended for general "...

Re: Suggestion for pluck generator

Would you mind if I can share it with my friends? Not at all. It's GPL open source so you're very welcome to use it, share it or modify it. It would be nice if you just gave them the link to the post (https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=328188#p328188) so that they download it for themse...
