Re: History of effects after saving project
While an Audacity project is open, you can see a summary list of everything that has been done since opening the project, by looking in "View menu > History". The History is not saved with the project (or with exported audio files), so once the project has been closed the list is no longer...

Re: Old audio file formats
Softspeak offers to accept .snd files. Is there any way of generating these? There are many different types of SND file - it's a generic file extension for several different file types (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SND_(file)) IF the file type is AU/NeXT, then you can create them by selecting &quo...

Re: How to reduce background autommusic when recording my vo
Audacity does not apply effects during recording. It only applies effects to tracks, or parts of tracks, that exist in the project. Re: enhance low level recording

OK, I see what you mean now. I'm not aware of a more direct way of doing that, but I don't recall ever being in that situation. Generally what I would do is to drag the left end of the selection somewhere around the 55 second mark before I zoomed into the end of the selection, then rather than using...

Re: WAV files
Ensure that the files are being exported as 16-bit WAV files, and ensure that the files have ".wav" as the file extension. Note that WAV files cannot be bigger than 4GB and some applications have a 2GB limit for WAV files. If you require further help, please tell us exactly which version o...

Re: Comments on 2.2.0 alpha June 15 2017
Is there a quick way to move a selection boundary to the mouse cursor while stopped when the resulting selection will be less than half the length of the original? Of the original selection? So far the quickest way I've found is to start playback from a point just before the intended position (keyb...

what is the difference between MME and 'Windows Direct' Very little difference on modern versions of Windows other than a different application programming interface. MME has been around forever and is just about universally supported on Windows, so if in doubt, try MME (it's the factory default fo...
