What does "will not work" mean precisely?
Which version of Audacity are you using?
Does the docking station work with other audio applications (for example, Skype)?
Why do you need to use the docking station?

Re: Can't cut one part of one song file.
If you're unsure about "selecting" the section of audio to be deleted, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audacity_selection.html If you are selecting the audio correctly, then my guess is that you have accidentally enabled "Sync-Lock". See here for how to turn Sync-Lock on ...

Re: Volume drop on backing tracks
The Asus Xonar DS has a feature called "Smart Volume Normalization (SVN)" (it also has other effects). My guess is that "SVN" is causing the problem. Check in the Xonar manual for how to turn it off. (turn off all effects for the most 'truthful' sound).

Re: Volume drop on backing tracks
How are the backing tracks playing? Have you imported them into Audacity so that you have a backing track in Audacity and a separate guitar track below it?

Re: Recording from Alesis Multi 8 track fx usb
The official release version of Audacity does not support ASIO. We don't offer support for unofficial versions. There is a bug in a couple of versions of Audacity where Audacity adds the wrong file extension to exported files. That's why I responded the way that I did in that other thread. Can we tr...

Re: Lame and FFmpeg not working?
Full instructions for installing LAME and FFmpeg are provided in the Audacity manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame It sounds like you may have downloaded the wrong file, so I'd suggest that you delete your current versions of LAME / FFmpeg, then run a fu...
