I've seen that type of problem occasionally. Are you able to give exact steps that will reliably reproduce the problem?

Re: Lost Data! Pls Send Halp!
Newer drives have an Early Warning System that's supposed to know when the drive isn't feeling well, but your system has to know to look for it. I can't remember the name, but many drives have it. "SMART" (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology). The simplest way to check is ...

Re: Lost Data! Pls Send Halp!
Sorry to say that I'm still not optimistic about project recovery, but worth letting the scan complete since it's been running so long. Also, nothing comes to mind as to what may have caused the problem. I would have expected that the effect would handle 1h 20, assuming a normal sample rate (could b...

OK, so it's not quite an "ordinary" WAV file, it's encoded as IMA ADPCM, but Audacity should be able to handle that. Perhaps the file header is damaged. First thing to do is to ensure that you have enough free disk space. ADPCM is a compressed format, to it will become MUCH bigger when dec...

Re: Lost Data! Pls Send Halp!
he data folder WAS on a separate drive Is that an external USB drive? I wouldn't recommend working directly on an external USB drive as just one little hiccup on the USB could trash the entire show. External USB drives are very useful for backup copies though, but in this case, if there's a read or...

Open the file in VLC, then look in "Tools > Codec Information". What does it say?

Re: Audacity 2.1.3 - Error Opening Sound Device
1) If you've not done so already, shut down your computer completely and reboot. Modern Macs don't like to shut down or close applications ever. A full 'cold boot' can resolve many strange problems with USB audio devices. If that does not help: Try plugging your headset into a different USB socket. ...

Re: Selection Tool not snapping to the end of an audio piece
Are you referring to the vertical yellow snap line that appears when you drag a selection to the time position of a clip boundary or label?
What exactly are you doing when the problem occurs?

Re: Lost Data! Pls Send Halp!
I'm a little surprised that the Noise Gate crashed, unless you were trying to apply it to a hugely long project. Were you doing that? More surprising is that the project could not be recovered. The Nyquist Noise Gate effect reads data from the _data folder, and writes new data to that folder, but it...
