Re: need speed
I still believe that what I am trying to do is just too much info to be processed and written to disc that quickly. The amount of data being written has not changed much. The vast majority of the data is the 32-bit PCM "AU" data files, then there's a tiny bit of data in the AUP file. Auda...

Re: Using EQ
"Some" Audacity effects, but NOT including the Equalization effect, support "real-time preview". An example being the "Bass and Treble" effect. With these effects, you can preview the entire project if you wish. You can also adjust the settings during the preview and he...

There's no such thing as "best", but "comfort" is essential.
The ATH M30's should be quite well suited to the job, if you find them comfortable.

Re: sound multiplication
The easiest way is to create a stereo track with one sound in the left channel and the other sound in the right channel. To join two mono tracks to create one stereo track, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tracks.html You can then multiply the sound in the left ch...

Re: Is speed change in Audacity same as speed change in reco
The digital sample rate of 44100 will only manage perfect audio up to around 20,000Hz The analogue electronics in the reel to reel machine probably top-out at around 20 kHz as well. So if you play a tape at x4 speed, and the analogue electronics reproduce up to 20 kHz, then you slow down the record...

Re: Channel Mixer effect crashes Audacity
The Debug button is a button not a checkbox, Perhaps we should change it to a checkbox, but it's probably a bit late in the release cycle for that. What would it take then to make Channel Mixer good enough for release in Audacity without Debug button? I assumed Channel Mixer quite high up the list ...

I meant specifically to 48000 Hz. Have you tried that specific recipe?Wile_E wrote:tried upping the project rate with no effect.
