Re: Further manipulation of spectrum analysis?
Plot Spectrum uses FFT analysis, which is an "all or nothing" kind of thing, in that the analysis will always be from DC (0 Hz) to half the sample rate (the Nyquist frequency). I agree that it would be useful to be able to zoom in on the data. When I need to do that sort of thing, I use Gn...

Re: Remove / Reduce partial backing vocals
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove or simply reduce some backing vocals from an audio track but leave the backing music. Sometimes it is possible, but often not. It depends on the audio. See here for more info: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_vocal_removal_and_isolation.html...

Re: Acoustic descriptors - 1/3 oct and dBA values
Audacity does not have a 1/3 octave spectrum analyzer, but it does have " Plot Spectrum " Would it be possible to record say a 94 dB tone with an acoustic calibrator at the beginning of a long audio recording with a sound level meter I'm not sure what you mean. "dB" is a ratio, s...

Re: Unable to use Blue Yeti Pro Microphone for rec and audio
The microphone was set to 44100Hz in the sound control panel. Changing it to 48000 Hz fixed the problem. I don't have a Yeti Pro so I'm just going on what I've read elsewhere on this forum. I'm curious to know if, once the sample rate has been set to 48000 in the sound control panel, will it then w...

Re: make error
make distclean to clean everything including "configure" Then run configure again, adding --with-portaudio=local to the configure options. For example, for a debug build that will work with ffmpeg ../configure CXXFLAGS="-std=gnu++11" --disable-dynamic-loading --with-portaudio=lo...
Re: ffmpeg
I presume that you mean Audacity 2.1.3 (there is no official 2.13 version). Did you follow these instructions to the letter: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_windows.html#winff If not, please try that (don't click on any big green download buttons - the actual d...

Use a "text to speech" application.
Google shows me this online app that gives a downloadable audio file: http://www.fromtexttospeech.com/
