Re: need speed
This does not add up. When using Jack, Audacity and the recording source are effectively isolated from each other. "Hardware -> ALSA -> Jack = constant audio stream" Audacity then taps into that audio stream, and has no interaction with ALSA or the hardware. This would indicate that the no...

Re: Multithreading plx
Multi-threading LAME is problematic because the "Bit Reservoir" requires that LAME runs as a single thread. Disabling the Bit Reservoir negatively affect encoding quality. There was a project a few years ago (https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,73790.0.html) that claimed to provide mult...

Re: Linux Mint 17.3 : USB Turntable, can'tg force -6db
Windows will (on some machines) allow the recording level to be adjusted, but this is done by scaling the digital audio data after it has entered the computer. In other words, it is identical to applying Audacity's "Amplify" effect after recording. Given that this is the case, why can't y...

Re: Linux Mint 17.3 : USB Turntable, can'tg force -6db
I've read your first post three times and I'm still not clear what problem you are having? Is the recording level too high? Too low? Something else? Does it sound distorted? What problem are we trying to fix?
