Re: High/Low Pass Filter?

Ensure that you are using the current version of Audacity (2.1.3 at time of writing) and you have installed it according to the instructions: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
Do not attempt to run Audacity directly from the DMG.

Re: Multithreading plx

For effect processing, a multi-threading strategy that has been considered by Audacity's developers is to process stereo tracks as two threads, one per channel. Currently there are no developers working on this, though I think there's a good chance that this approach could be taken at some future ti...

Re: Multithreading plx

Multi-threading LAME is problematic because the "Bit Reservoir" requires that LAME runs as a single thread. Disabling the Bit Reservoir negatively affect encoding quality. There was a project a few years ago (https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,73790.0.html) that claimed to provide mult...

Re: Linux Mint 17.3 : USB Turntable, can'tg force -6db

Windows will (on some machines) allow the recording level to be adjusted, but this is done by scaling the digital audio data after it has entered the computer. In other words, it is identical to applying Audacity's "Amplify" effect after recording. Given that this is the case, why can't y...

Yes, the light blue one.
Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel and ensure that it is enabled.

Re: Linux Mint 17.3 : USB Turntable, can'tg force -6db

I've read your first post three times and I'm still not clear what problem you are having? Is the recording level too high? Too low? Something else? Does it sound distorted? What problem are we trying to fix?
