Re: 2.1.3: Label times don't agree with rest of GUI
Thanks for the detailed report. I strongly suspect that it is a rounding issue - the labels times in the editor being represented with insufficient decimal places to achieve exact sample numbers. The actual labels are saved as seconds with 10 decimal places, which is sub-sample accurate even at the ...

Re: Help me detiermine
Chromebooks don't use Windows. They have their own unique operating system called Chrome OS . Audacity does not support Chrome OS. You need to use software that is specifically designed to run on Chrome OS. For more information about Chromebooks, see these links: https://www.google.com/chromebook/ h...

Re: Audacity crashed and than Missing Audio Block Files
Sorry, but it looks like there is no audio data. Unless you exported a WAV file backup (always recommended) then I don't think there's anything that we can do. What has caused this? Without more information I've no idea. What were you doing when Audacity crashed? Was it just Audacity that crashed or...

Re: Normalize is not working
SOme tutorials told me to use Normalize They were wrong. For information about Normalize (and Amplify), see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/amplify_and_normalize.html I need that low whispers volumes are boosted and loud screams are made lower. Basically i need a more "uniform" volume...

Re: Chris's Compressor
Although this plug-in is frequently recommended on this forum (because it's a pretty good compressor), it is not "our" product, so it is not officially supported. Sadly, the person that created this plug-in died a few years ago, so no support there either, but we will try to help if we can...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2-1 launch - core dump - support
OK, Audacity should not be run as root, but I noticed that your first message indicated that you were. This is not a known bug to us, and I've only found a handful of similar reports on Google, but nothing specific to Audacity 2.1.2 on Kubuntu. There has been a lot of recent work to improve exceptio...

Re: How to count the number of the "clipping" point
Either reduce the gain of your mic pre-amp (if you are using one), or reduce the recording level in your computer's sound system settings (you've given very little information about your set-up), or simply move the mic a bit further away from the sound. The recording should look more like this: firs...
