Let's suppose I have Ableton Live and I use it and register Audacity as a wav editor.
This is quite a popular type of use case and is being considered by the developers.

Re: Export/Save to location where file is located.

Here's a third request for the same basic thing. Work like Microsoft Paint, and Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Office, and every other FILE editing program out there, by default, instead of being kind of a DAW and kind of a WAV file editor and kinda not. Don't you think that this is a bit like compl...

Re: Export/Save to location where file is located.

The "safety" recommendation of disallowing file write over is simply an obstacle to using Audacity in tandem with any digital audio workstation. All other editors allow this basic command You're late to this particular party. With current versions of Audacity you can overwrite the importe...

"The developers do not think of Audacity as a WAV file editor" As it says on the front page of the website , Audacity is primarily a "multi-track audio editor and recorder". and although users wish that it was one You missed out the word "some". "and although some...

Try purging Audacity, then delete

Code: Select all

I have attached an uncompressed zip of the file that is causing the problem.
Thanks.
That project opens fine for me on Linux, but the problem may only occur on Windows.
Hopefully one of the developers will be along shortly to test it on Windows.

Re: Why does Audacity store audio in small chunks?

Things have changed somewhat with the release of Audacity 3.0.0. The entire project is now within the "AUP3" project file.

The Software Manager says version 2.4.2.
If it's working well for you, stick with that version (it works well for me on Xubuntu)
