Re: DC Offset Cancellation in Windows 10
f I do DC Offset through the 'Normalize' effect when I don't have any DC Offset to correct, no harm can be done. Is that correct? Provided that you correct DC Offset correction to all of the audio in the project, and the correction is applied before any other processing, then that is correct. If th...

Re: Running Audacity switch PulseAudio to 44100 until PC res
But Audigy 2 ZS is a litmus test Yes, there are well known problems with several of the Audigy cards on Linux. Unfortunately, if the manufacturer don't supply drivers or enough technical information for the Linux community to develop good drivers, then we're stuck with (sometimes buggy) reverse eng...

Are you referring to "Audacity audio editing software"?ellenhiggins wrote:my new audacity player

Re: DC Offset Cancellation in Windows 10
In this screenshot: https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=18391 the region that you have marked shows a "thump" or "hum" of low frequency noise. Looking at the time scale, one cycle (up, down and back up again) takes about 0.01 seconds (1/100th of a second), which i...

Re: audacity and tascam
I've not found much information about the Tascam US 144 interface as it is apparently an obsolete model, but for most USB sound cards the, left input is "channel 1" and the right input is "channel 2". Audacity is not able to swap the channels, so if you record only one channel (m...

Re: Remastering Plugin Tools
Luckily, nowadays much older music (e.g. from HDtracks and other good sources) sell recordings that are 'close to' DolbyA encoded. What's "lucky" about that? As you said yourself, software Dolby A decoders are rare, so it would certainly not be "Greatest-Sounding Music Downloads"...

Out of interest, why do you need > 100 kHz RAW PCM?

If you are recording in mono, ensure that you are using the "left" input (Channel 1) on the Tascam.
