Which Linux distribution are you using?
What is the commit id that you build from? (I'm assuming that you built from the source code as this is the forum board for Audacity 3.0.1 alpha).

My guess is that it probably is. I don't see those problems when Audacity 3.0.0 is built from source.

Mixing a dark desktop theme with a light app theme is unlikely to look very nice.
You could always create a theme to suit your own taste. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/themes.html#custom

No, but you can move the track using the Time Shift Tool so that it starts at any time that you want.

My only problem is the menus of Audacity 3 (and 2.4.2 too !) are incomplete : no check marks with options in menu, no arrows when submenu. Has anybody the same problem ? Your screenshot looks a bit peculiar because you are using the high contrast theme. It will look more "normal" if you use one of the other themes.
