Re: Setting up new PC

We don't offer email support, and it's very bad idea to post your email address on a public forum as it will attract lots of spam to your account. Audacity is free software. You can download it at no cost via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ There is no license key. The d...

Re: "Change Tempo" is also increasing volume

the input waveform had no clipping whatsoever I disagree. The input waveform has much clipping, but it is intentional clipping - an important part of the "over-driven" electric guitar sound. This is a close-up of the input waveform that you provided, and the "clipping" (flattene...

Re: "Change Tempo" is also increasing volume

The increase in peak level is not a 'fault', but rather just a side effect of the time stretch algorithm on that particular (heavily clipped) waveform. Looking at a close up of the guitar waveform, notice how the peaks are flattened horizontally by the distortion effect on the guitar sound: firsttra...

Re: Linux Version and hidpi

The current 2.1.3 (and the previous 2.1.2) versions of Audacity are built with wxWidgets 3.0.2, but that does not solve all of the high dpi issues. There is still a lot of development work that needs to be done in order to fully support hdpi. It is certainly an issue that needs to be addressed as hd...

Re: Export to IFF (Amiga)

The file I posted is certainly not a WAV file (despite the .wav file extension). Try viewing the file in a hex editor.

Perhaps you would have more success exporting as RAW (?)

Re: Export to IFF (Amiga)

I tried to export 16bit WAV to 8bit signed IFF but looks like after conversion the file is 8bit WAV (with .iff extension). It seems to work OK for me. Here's a signed 8-bit IFF file created with Audacity 2.1.2. The .WAV extension is so that the forum board will accept it. test-chirp.wav The correct...

YouTube would be better. My browser security blocks that video.

Re: "Change Tempo" is also increasing volume

There's an awful lot of settings in Audacity, which one(s) are you referring to? The settings that I need to set to be able to reproduce the problem that you are describing. We could start with the settings that you are using in the Change Tempo effect. It's a perfectly normal WAV file, recorded on...

Re: recording noise persists

Split to new topic. I'm unclear what your question is. Is the topic title relevant? Installed AC 2.x.x on Win 7. What is "AC 2.x.x " Can record but no output You can record what? keep getting error opening sound device What is the exact message? Does it mention recording or playback device...
