Re: amplitude for 70db

There is no way to control how loudly a file will play. Even a "quiet" audio file will sound loud if I play it via a big amplifier with the volume turned up high. Similarly a "loud" track will sound quiet if I turn down the playback volume. To play a sound at a specified loudness...

Re: Chains - some effects - crash Audacity 2.2.0.

Unfortunately this is a bug that appeared in version 2.2.0 and was not noticed until after release. A new release is planned for the beginning of December, which is primarily a bug-fix release, and includes a fix for this bug. If you need to use chains between now and the release of 2.2.1, you could...

Re: win-2.2.0 installer - partially wrong Russian encoding

Thank you. I now understand. This bug is already logged on the Audacity bug tracker. I have added a note to say that the problem is still present in the release version of Audacity 2.2.0.

Re: Level volume channels

If you are using an Audacity version earlier than 2.2.0, the command is: "Tracks menu > Stereo Track to Mono".
If you are using Audacity 2.2.0, the command is: "Tracks menu > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono".

Re: is there any way to remove this warning from the draw to

is there any way to remove this warning from the draw tool? The short answer is 'no'. The Draw Tool grabs one sample at a time and moves it up or down as you drag it. The usefulness of the tool is when there is a need to adjust a few individual samples, for example, to make an approximate correctio...

It would perhaps be easier if you try is and see if it does what you want.
If it's not what you want, Ctrl+Z to undo the effect.

Re: Windows 10, Audacity 2.2.0, Remove Tracks Disallowed

Just for information: The reason that deleting was "Disallowed" was because " Tracks > Remove Tracks" operates on all selected tracks. If there are no tracks selected, then the command is not valid. This did not occur with a default install of older versions, because if no tracks...

Re: Level volume channels

It is normal for the channels of a stereo track to be different. If the two channels are identical, then it will play as mono. It is the differences between the two channels that makes stereo play as stereo. If you want the sound from both left and right speakers to be the same ("mono") th...

Re: Windows 10, Audacity 2.2.0, Remove Tracks Disallowed

Click on the track (anywhere) so that the track is selected before selecting "Tracks > Remove Tracks".

(In my opinion, it is a minor bug that the recorded track is not already selected)

achamo wrote:the quality is extremely bad to a point it very unpleasant
By "extremely bad", do you mean that it sounds "distorted" (like when you turn the volume up too loud)?
If you import the track into a new, empty, Audacity project (with no other tracks), does it sound OK?
